As we all know, Windows 10 is coming this summer. Although there would be 32bit version of W10, I doubt if organizations and private user gonna continue purchasing and installing it. 64bit would be a global standard very soon and DSPR would be forced to upgrade FS, or their platform will fade completely, on all fronts.

They know it. Its a race against time, as very soon, the robotics market's requirements gonna increase and Available 3.25gb of ram will be sad joke. I bet we will soon hear them announcing on 64bit development (or any other product). Just hope they won't completely abandon the music part of the new FS, because that might happen.

I selfishly want this to be true, but I have a hard time imagining a robotics program in Flowstone taking up more than 3 GB. Perhaps that's just my ignorance, but I doubt that will be an imminent issue. The only reason we really need 64 bit for audio plugins is for compatibility with the 64 bit hosts, not because we're using that much memory.

That said, even if they can comfortably get away with a 32 bit app for everything other than audio for the next five years, the audio aspect of it will surely be completely dead by then if 64 bit doesn't happen.

I share Exo's interest in reaching out to FL users and his disappointment with the new FL 12 Flowstone situation. As it was, few people even knew they had Flowstone already installed and useable with their FL install, or knew what they could do with it, but now even fewer are going to bother installing it. There is most certainly an untapped potential there, and we could certainly do a lot to take advantage of that, for Flowstone's and the community's sake. But until we have an assurance that 64 bit is coming and this application isn't a sinking ship, WE are restricted in that we can't even recommend it to people in order to bring in more support and revenue for the product's continued development. It's a silly situation. It's as if there's a bunch of money being held hostage and the dev(s) just need to manage to get 64 bit working to unlock it. I have no understanding of the issues faced in making that happen, but it would be a terrible shame to not get past this, and soon.

Malc, if you are reading this, please, throw money at the problem. It will come back to you. We'll make sure it comes back to you.

Yes, you are right. But its not the only reason. For instance, what about better performance, especially with samples? There is a bunch of reasons why, but nor of them is taken in to account by DSPR right now. The only chance to see FS getting a decent upgrade is when the whole platform (especially robotics) would be under a danger.

Yes. Theoretically, they can survive 5 years without any significant upgrade. But that would seriously harm the product's luxury just like it happens at the current situation, on the audio market. My experience teaches me that when premium product's luxury dies because of stagnation, the product dies with it. The market is cruel and the "Herd effect" is stronger than any brand.

Definitely silly. And sad too. we have a real brilliant, loyal and powerful community here that may increase the interest in the upgraded product to new heights and easily make new customers. If DSPR is giving up for this community now, I doubt if they would be able to consolidate it in the future, when they will finally wake up. Most of those people will be already captive customers of other platform.
