Single knob/button Equaliser

Post by Alexdiguardo »

Hi guys,

I had this idea in mind for a while and just found out about Flowstone.

In Cubase I use an EQ curve that I always find very effective to polish distorted guitars.

I was wondering if it's possible to build a vst with 1 button which switches said curve on.

Bit more complex maybe, a single knob that gives you the possibility to decide how much of this curve you wanna apply.

II had a first look at the modules and other components but felt a bit lost.

Was wondering if there is a starting point where I can edit frequencies, decibels and the "Q".

Hi Alexdiguardo, and welcome to the forum!

Frequencies, decibels and the "Q" - that would be three knobs, right? ;)
Attached is a peaking filter, with a white noise source so you can hear the result. It is not the most efficient implementation but one that should be easy to understand and perhaps learn from.

Have fun!

Thanks for this! Yes it's 3 parameters but with fixed values, so the user won't even see those.

He will just hit the switch to activate those values.

I'll take a look at your example!

I made some progress on the schematics and also did a basic GUI.

Being my first time playing with Flowstone, i'm struggling to get everything to work.

I've attached the schematics and here is also a printscreen:

@martinvicanek i'm offering a donation of £50 via paypal to get this working so i thought i'd asked you first as you were kind enough to share your graphic eq schematics, before i open a thread with a public proposal.

What do you think?

Thanks a lot

Yes, Martin helped me out with that in a similar way.
The vst is ready now, tested and works wonders. I'll link a demonstration video soon!
