Free and synced LFO

Post by Kirill_Neoris »

I'm feeling shameful about it but I can't understand how to make a free running LFO in FlowStone

edit: so if I play a note, the LFO doesn't retrigger (what I call "a free running") and allows long sweeps across the whole melody or a composition.

A synced (to bpm of DAW) is necessary too (and i've seen prims for this but couldn't figure out how to deal with them).
Can you give me some clues or examples? (I've tried to search on free LFO)
Thanks in advance!

Oh, it's funny :) That was stupid  Sorry.

I've just got that I need just to connect a knob with a freq. range, convert it to 0-1 and it's a "free running" oscillator.
Sometimes I'm stucking :) (I was "bond" to MIDI to Poly I guess)

Please, correct me if I'm wrong.

The second thing (song position based) is still a "white space" for me.

No, something still doesn't works for me...

I've tried to connect "Trigger" to "Sine"'s Sync. It was working as I've expected. Then I've disconnected this link... Now I can't make it to play as a "free running" LFO again! So it acts like it's still connected. I've tried to connect Int = 0 to "Sync" but it doesn't helps. Every new note retriggers the oscillator.

I'll remake this schematic again from the beginning and try again now...

Just repeated it.

I can't explain how but now it starts from zero on every note (so it's not a matter if I restart the program and rebuild a schematic).
Can somebody explain about how can I create a running oscillator (for LFO or whatever) that will not be retriggering on every note? It was working just for the 1st time... (actually today the 1st time was when I've tried ROXY's little gear to make test sweeping sounds).

This makes me a bit nervous...

You need the make the lfo in mono (blue) and then it will not restart from 0 every time

How to make "Sine" to take a "blue" signal in "Freq"?
I couldn't find anything better than MIDI mono and Tempo prims in Component Reference.pdf
Anyway they retrigger the wave once I release all notes and play again.

I'm guessing now that it can be done via controlling the Phase of an oscillator. But I'm not sure where to start... Need some clock that will be setting phase values constantly so it will be independent to notes' playing.

Just found this and this is the great work, guys!!!
I'll be reading this theme like a kind of "50 tones of grey" :D
Really, for me it's a story.
