Hi Nix,

Still play in FS on a few small things. Last project was a Time Elapsed when a DAW is in play mode. Helps me with my Client Invoicing.

Working full time as a Mastering Engineer.

As for Gig'in ... all of our Band jobs have been cancelled till ...... who knows :|

Just had purchased a new Yamaha Studio Drumset ... got to play it a couple times. Tested out some different heads for the kit ... got to play them once :| quite depressing ... thankful for Mastering keeping me busy.

Always look forward to your posts. All the best !

I have a Yamaha DTXPlorer with nice double kick,
I should assemble it
I have some recordings of talented drummers,
so it has served in past
- I can do polyrhythms when I overlay takes
-despite the setbacks, I hope that drumming jives with u as much as ever!

I picked up that Black Rooster Audio everything bundle as far as mastering,
they seem like very nice plugs, gotta give them a real stress test
I will be attempting realtime deep compression of electric guitar again soon
-looking for that pulse-like sustain
That's very cool that the mastering work has kept flowing,
all sorts of industry is getting pushed around

I'm getting more settled in here in NW Tasmania

always nice to chat RJ!

Hi Nix,

Yeah ... I went on a plugin buying spree myself.

SOFTUBE had a sale on the Chandler Limited series of plugins [Abby Road stuff].

The CurveBender EQ, the Germanium Compressor, and the Zener Limiter. Really nice addition to my toolbox.

Also their TAPE plugin.

Also picked up some PA plugs ... The ShadowHill comp, the IRON comp,
a bunch of BX stuff ... the DigitalV3-eq, BX_XL v2, bx-DYN-eq,

The Black Box HG-2 tube saturator, BAX-eq, ProAudioDSP DSM-v3, Millennia NSEQ-2

Still beta-test for AcusticaAudio ... they have really stepped up some new, unique products [like the EAR equalizer]

Some of the plugins I have are the 'algo' versions of the Acustica stuff. Quite interesting how the different designs work on a track.

Hopefully done buying plugins for a while ... been studying them for the past few months [nothing like 'Isolation' to have the time].

The 'pandemic' has been a huge hit. I happen in one of the 'Nanny' states in the US that was hit the hardest. We are still in Phase-2 going to Phase-3 of existence.

Niteclubs are just beginning to open ... those that have survived. We'll see when Live Music will be considered.

ahh .... DRUMS

Earlier, I had traded out a MAPEX kit, as well as my 1972 LUDWIG drums [my very first set].

One was too small ... the other ... just too big for the Clubs [and for me to carry around].

I went for my first YAMAHA kit ... done in Honey Amber finish :)

Did the 20" kick, 14 snare, 10, 12, 13, 14FL Toms ... and still have my collection of Zildjian Cymbals.

My other Kit is one of the 'portable' kits [REMO], that I use for the Jazz gigs [and other stuff].

Just before everything shut down, I was testing out the EVANS G2 heads for the Toms [I was an ole Pin Stripper forever]. The Yammy's didn't sound as warm/deep with the Pinstrips. They sounded great on my other kits.

So now I went with the G2's [top and bottom]. Only got to play them once ... so ... but they did sound better ... less clicky, more tone and depth.

Hope to be playing SOON. Going crazy. So are the Guys in the Bands.

I'm concerned ... been doing so much hand washing, and hand sanitizer ... I don't have any callous's left.

A Baby's behind has NOTHING over my Hands. Could be a bloody mess that first gig :|

can you guys tell I'm half crazy ... and the other half is questionable at best.

that should be superhard if not humanly impossible to do, because acustica does atleast 3d convolution.
or was it 2d?

I must have been unclear ...

I was referring that I have 'similar' models that were, either, mathematically [algo] based, and the AcusticaAudio [vertoral convolution].
