Freq Fork - LA Freq

So, years ago I wrote a song called freak. Never released it; But I decided to to commemorate this new EQ. It's a track about liking ladies who are more fun than most *cough.

this track uses the free Tonez synth available on Github. I'm always trying to show support for open source developers. Oh. and I will make a track using synths from here like promised. Will be using the ass and halon's new saturn!

If you open the stock eq, you can see where this started,
I am actually incapable of coding the filter, but me and Grymmjack made a radical mod to the UI and ergonomics

Yes, NP. I've been working on a total customization of this. I wrote another EQ framework that frankly works a bit better but this framework is cool.

It's only downside is that it cannot be resized due to I'm guessing some multiplication. It skips and lurches ahead or is jumpy with a big module screen.

But at just the right size it's perfect.

I thought I would discontinue the line unless you're ok with Me calling it the freq as well. It's just a freq skin. But the new design would be a rebuild. It's free of course and I will place the link as you'd suggested. Glad to see that you have your site up btw, it looks great.

Cool mate, the ad for your site will be front and center so it sends people to you. Can you PM me a good logo that can be small beside some words to better represent your site and presence? I can clean it up if you'd like, it's cool

I'm discontinuing the first version of this equalizer so to replace it with the second.

The reason for that is plainly that it's very inefficient to make a parametric EQ unless it is relying on perfect math. I found the old style of working with an equalizer too clunky and replaced everything with My own code. it had modules within modules because it was based on the stock example.

So, Freq2 will use My own new code and I will also replace the EQ provided in the stock EQ with a perfect, working clean and simple example.

It will allow you to simply choose the amount of bands and colours, fonts, of bands as well as a crosshair effect. Furthermore there will be a dialogue box which can optionally popup to show the readings of the current band being manipulated.

The Freq2 will use MJ/RBJ filter types as well as en elliptical hp/lp by Martin Vicanek. It's nice to have a steep filter and recently I've found the elliptical filter to be quite useful to make an envelope signal without feedback from bass. It used almost no memory which makes Me feel it's ideal.

Because the code was of course based on Nix and Grymmjack's code, there will be of course a credit at the forefront, likely under the freq letters. This will be an open source project which will be provided at flowstoners.com.

Next is to finish the Mverb, it's nearly done but I've been updating all of My older plugins at VSTplug like the Freq, LA bands 2, Esquire etc etc.

Hi Robert-

I hope you don't mind some constructive criticism regarding your videos... it's something that a few plugin devs seem to struggle with (beatassist.eu and Wusik come to mind), so nothing personal.

The number one thing I am looking for in a plugin video, is audio demonstrating the plugin.
Explanations/descriptions/controls being moved around are fine and dandy- but if I can't hear what the plugin is doing, it's a big turnoff. It also doesn't necessarily build confidence in an audio plugin developer if the audio for their videos is terrible or non-existent.

For an excellent example of great demo videos, Spogg ticks off all the right boxes- calm, clear, has a great balance of explanation/overview combined with live demonstration. I watch and enjoy his videos even if I don't really need any help in understanding the plugin.

If you're trying to gain visibility for your work, the presentation of the work should be considered as carefully as the work itself- it's such an easy trap to fall into, using so much of your energy for the work itself, that "selling" your work feels like a chore, and therefore gets less attention.
