This company took a different approach to simple welding solutions, most of the welding jobs can be done with Cartesian robots.

Good to see you are progressing. BTW, do you need that additional pitch control on wrist ? Also, If you look at ABB welding robot, they have the wrist roll motor at the back of the arm. This will reduce the stress shoulder joint.

It looks interesting. Having tried similar projects in the past i came to the conclusion that steppers are really not suitable for articulated robots. The problem with them is, to hold an arm you have to keep the steppers energized, and that makes the stepper drivers running real hot. If you disable ...
