Re: SFZVibeFX Soundfont Sampler 03/10/25 PST
Thanks, Paul! I did finally manage to play your MIDI files, however, with another SFZ player, so I am not sure if it sounds the way it is supposed to. The reason why I failed with your SFZ player is because I don't know where it looks for the sfz and sample files when it is instructed to load a ...

Re: SFZVibeFX Soundfont Sampler 03/04/25
Thank you, pwesynthmaker, for the sfz sample player. Flowstone’s sfz parser prim has not been used very much, at least not that I am aware. I use sfz based instruments a lot in my recordings, however with a non-FS sample player. It seems worthwhile to explore FS’ capabilities for sfz processing ...

Re: ODD's and EVEN's in ASM
The hop is there to save a little CPU assuming that the filter coefficients do not change at audio rate. The savings are not overwhelming, but most of the time the hopping will not do any harm. Exception might be when you have a filter envelope with an insanely sharp attack or run your filter LFO at ...

Re: Quilcom ENFORCER
Beautiful!
On new years eve when the fireworks were on, I thought that might be an interesting task for Spogg... Would that be something you would consider perhaps for the next occassion?

Re: Quilcom SIM-TABLA
Wow! Absolutely stunning! :ugeek:
I have always been impressed by the realism of your drum simulations, but with the SIM-TABLA you've really outdone yourself. Man it sounds so much like the real thing, I would not be able to tell them apart in an A-B test.
And what a clever mapping of the vast ...

Re: Quilcom SIM-ARC
Bravo! Another piece of great art and engineering from you, Mr. Spogg!
An electric arc is a complex phenomenon, and the sound it emits is certainly not easy to simulate - I would not even know where to begin. You captured its characteristics very well! When I close my eyes and listen to your SIM ...

Re: Alias Suppressed Wave Shaping
Thanks again, Adam. Indeed, rcpps and the additional multipy are cheaper than divps, but you are aware that it comes at the cost of precision loss. rcpps has a relative error of up to 1.5*2^-12, which means you have a bit more than 3 significant digits (out of nearly 7 in single precision). In other ...

Alias Suppressed Wave Shaping
Recently I wrote a note about anti-aliased waveshaping To my surprise, one person actually read it! :o So I thought I might just as well post a demo here, would maybe reach a broader audience. Basically there are two mechanisms at work, one is oversampling and the other is called ADAA (don ...
